During the 6th edition of the Graz Expert Meeting on Single-cell sequencing technologies in the cardiovascular field, held on September 15 and 16 in Graz, Austria, Jill de Mol from the group of Amanda Foks from Leiden University received the award for best poster presentation.
During this annual symposium, organized at the Medical University of Graz, basic scientists and clinicians were invited to present and discuss their recent advances with single cell sequencing technologies in the field of atherosclerosis. Amanda was invited to present her work on ‘Single cell profiling of age-associated immunity in atherosclerosis’. During the poster session, Jill de Mol presented her work on age-associated B cells as pro-atherogenic drivers in murine atherosclerosis and their association with human coronary events.

During an online webinar on inflammation in atherosclerosis, organized by the European Society of Cardiology, Ilze Bot lectured on the use and application of single-cell RNA sequencing in atherosclerosis. She specifically discussed two cases where such data can be of interest in target discovery and for mechanistic insight, also related to B cells.

On June 18, Ilze Bot participated in the monthly webinar organized by the European Vascular Biology Meeting. She presented her work on mast cells in cardiovascular disease, also referring to antibodies and antigens that may activate these cells, in relation to the B-specific work.

American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy
Nick Geukens from the KUL team took part in the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy 27th Annual Meeting held between 7th and 11th May 2024 in Baltimore, United States
The KUL team presented their work related to unraveling the multifactorial host immune response triggered by intramuscular electrotransfer of a DNA-encoded antibody.
Biotech conference in the Benelux
Members of the KUL team joined in the biggest biotech conference in the BeNeLux, Knowledge for Growth, held between 15th and 16th May 2024 in Antwerpen, Belgium.
